Have you dabbled in story telling or perhaps taken a creative writing class in college? Then this course is designed for you. In this low-pressure workshop we will review the elements of fiction such as dialogue, character, point of view, theme, pacing and revision by reading student work as well noted authors. The course is focused on the short story.
Whether your interest is memoir, essays, articles, blog posts, journalism, or creative non-fiction, this workshop will build confidence and technique through weekly assignments and feedback from both the instructor and classmates. Tips and suggestions for getting your work published are included.
Tap into your imagination, your desire for self-expression, and your own unique way of communicating in a classroom environment that encourages your individuality. From fiction to letter writing to sharing your life story and more, the young writer will grow and learn among peers.
